Last week, I witnessed an interesting discussion about Love in Dark Eldar society.
It was really hard for me to explain my point of view because of my English so I just made troll face and continued painting my minis.

so guys what do you think - do DE feel love or do not?

In my opinion they love. But in an obsessive, possessive way. As far as I remember from my DE codex Eldar in general(although the craftworld ones are stoic now) experience all their emotions and feelings much stronger than any other race. That's why DE take cruelty to the extremes - it's never enough. Same goes for passion imho. Although while the Archon(or Archoness[?]) may be possessive over his/her lover, I can easily see them take any other woman to bed if they wanted to.

I think that Dark Eldar are just dark elves in space, and WFB dark elves are very similar to the ones from Forgotten Realms universe AND one of the first books about Drizzt Do'Urden show the relations between Malice and her husbands. It's not a romantic love(although I can see it happen in the spires of Commorragh), but a feeling full of wicked passion for each other. A bit like vikings maybe? Their women might fight with them too, like viking shield-maidens.

Could imagine DEs being similar to Vulcans, only much more sinister: They learned to shut away their emotions in order to survive. Because there is no time for emotions like love or pity in their war. The tragedy would be that by doing so they become more and more like the enemy...
Perhaps this picture shows what they lost?

An slave too cute to be ill-treated? love is there, all Eldar feels all passions stronger than a human can. THe Dark Berthreen are just too consumed by darkness for love to take the form that we know as love. But it is still there, and if it is there, it is capable of any prowess, just like everywhere else.

I do like how your image is ambiguous in nature:

- One the one side, it nearly seems like two Dark Eldar cuddling ;) He seems to touch her softly, carefully, and certainly not harming the woman. Almost human tenderness, which is in a certain way not unrealistic (should Dark Eldar REALLY be as brutal as in the fluff, they would have wiped each other out a long time ago. Logic demands that they also do have their peaceful moments ;))
- One the other hand, the Dark Eldar background still shines through: The dressed male character takes a dominant gesture, while the naked female appeards more submissive, he is the only one doing the touching, but not vice versa...to cut a long story short: There is also some "Let's make clear who is the boss" message in the pic.

Combining these two aspects in the pic really makes it shine. Well done :)
