Beckjann I too share your love of the Dark Eldar but I must ask...have you ever considered plying your hand to figures such as Uriel Rakarth or Khedruakh the Decapitator (sp?)? I reckon they'd make great pieces for your portfolio.
Greetings, ever since I got into Warhammer 40k I've started to like it a lot and once it comes down to it, I guess that the Craftworld Eldar are my favorite faction, race or whatever. Me and a good friend of mine pretty much hate everything we know thus far about the Dark Eldar, but still there's a lot I don't know about them, so I'd just like to ask you why you like them so much, because personally: I just see a bunch of disgusting degenerates.. (if this offends or pisses you off, well! ^^ I just can't put it any other way) If I haven't gotten it all wrong, they're pretty much the reason why Slaanesh exists, no?
Now, before anything else is said, I just want to make it clear that I'm far from an expert regarding Dark Eldar, or the 40k universe in general to be honest. Compared to you, I guess I am very new indeed. I can't really help it if I get on as an arrogant douche here, I just can't help the fact that I don't like the Dark Eldar at all ^^ so I just want someone more experienced than me to explain why he/she likes them so much.
Hey mate, sorry for the long silence. I can understand you, same story happened with me and I asked same question. well it will be very hard to me to explain my whole point of view because of my English, but I will try. World of Darkness role-playing games and such helped me to look on things differently. First of all you are accepting the fact that it's just a game and your vampire or demon or whatever character might be really crazy and disgusting creature but only if you look at them as a human, as yourself in real life. Try to put yourself in their skin. For vampires humans food, for demons humans disgusting creatures, for elves humans are monkeys etc. For Dark Eldar humans and some other races just source of Life. Simple as that. They really fan to play and entourage of piracy, elven representation, dark grace/elegancy, background, beautiful miniatures. My friends started rpg called Gangsters I guess and I also just cant play for gangster character, hate them really. So i never put myself in skin of a human maniac or psycho criminal character. oooh have to ran to work!!!
Good point! I almost forgot about that, trying to see things from their eyes. I doubt a human could ever truly understand a very old and powerful dark eldar/craftworld eldar though... I get the feeling neither would be too interested in what a human would have to say... ^^ Yeah don't get me wrong, many of the miniatures are really nice looking! (lots of fancy details that I can't get to!) They're one of the reasons why I'm so into 40k right now, them snazzy miniatures, and the lore. I just love it. Only problem is that you need to be good at painting them if they're ever gonna look any good (this is where I fail <3). Yeah.. Human Gangsters sound pretty damn lame... That's why I like Warhammer 40k so much, it's different, to an extreme level! Colorful, unique, powerful and terrifying beings fighting to achieve their grand ambitions and all that...
Oh well, thanks for the reply anyway. I hope you'll keep it up with the art, I may not be a fan of dark eldar, but more proper artists with dreams are required in this world. -.- PS. Your English isn't as terrible as you make it sound, but there's room for improvement. There's always room for that I suppose.
Actually i could explain the thing about the Dark Eldar, for you.
The reason why Slaanesh emerged was because the old empire eldar weren't just having regular sex and violence parties, it was because they were having psyker augmented death-orgies. millions upon billions of psykic souls coming together in a passionate embrace. And from that Slaanesh was born. The dark eldar see the fall of the empire as having two causes: Psyker abilities and Decadence. So they condition themselves to suppress their innate abilities and they live paranoid cut-throat lives which don't allow too much room for decadence unless one is the leader of a kabal.

yes, BUT: Dark Eldar can be resurrected if their remains are exposed to enough suffering. However, the older and fewer the remains, the more suffering required. if there are no remains, then the eldar soul goes to slaanesh.
Now that I think about it, I'm surprised that Black-Library (the guys who write stories for Games Workshop) haven't used "accidental dark eldar resurrection" as a plot device because that would be creepy as fuck.
Part 2: A soul in warhammer 40k is the mind and personality of an intelligent being. As that person experiences pain or uncomfortable emotions, their soul breaks up into fragments. The soul and the body are dependent on each other for strength. The Dark Eldar hate the Dark Prince (that is Slaanesh's nickname) because He is a constant drain their souls. Fortunately, She Who Thirsts (that is also Slaanesh's nickname) will accept alternatives, so the Dark Eldar traumatize others and then use the drain within themselves to suck up the fragments of souls. This not only regenerates them spiritually, but their bodies are healed as well. SO if you saw a pack of dark eldar running at you and you successfully shoot one of them (which is extremely difficult since they have been known to dodge lasers) then the rest of the pack would become invigorated and capture you in less than 2 heartbeats. That is pretty bad-ass.
